Marilyn loves the flow of a party, that moment when all elements come together. One moment flows to the next, joy and laughter ripple through the room, and the event sparkles. This is the magic Marilyn looks to create in each of her events. A native San Franciscan, Marilyn inherited her innate warmth and love of people from her mother, a true Southern lady, who taught her the sound principles of Southern hospitality at an early age. With over 15 years of professional event planning experience in radio and television, catering, and weddings, Marilyn developed her talents creating, planning, and managing performing arts and fund-raising galas, gallery openings, publicity and corporate events, and weddings and parties of all sizes.
Her diverse background, which includes public relations and branding, enables her to create truly unique weddings and events for her clients. Marilyn Ambra Party Consultants, Inc grew organically as past clients and colleagues called on her to assist with their events. She’s worked with over 200 brides & grooms. Marilyn provides professional event planning services for weddings, parties, bar/bat mitzvahs and just about any other social occasion. Marilyn’s events are created with a unique signature reflecting the couple or host’s personality. Her attention to detail and ability to weave continuity throughout each party makes for spectacular results. Her own wedding, featured in the book Your Vintage Wedding: Unique Ideas & Inspirations for Today’s Bride, Harper Collins, was designed to be an historically accurate recreation of a 1930’s art deco white tie affair, complete with minutely accurate design elements. Marilyn is masterful at relating to her clients and fulfilling their needs and wants. No request is too small, and her clients’ wishes and needs are first and foremost. She knows that each client’s event is an important part of their life story and honors that by taking the utmost care to convey their wishes, visions, and desires into every element of the event, from the save-the-date cards to the last dance.
